Training and Technical Assistance Will Expand Local Access to HUD-Approved Housing Counseling Services and Strengthen Infrastructure Across the Island
SAN JUAN, P.R., May 31, 2017 /3BL Media/– The National Council of La Raza (NCLR), and Citi Community Development kicked off an initiative today to provide training and technical assistance for four leading local housing counseling agencies and expand access to Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) -certified counseling and foreclosure prevention services for low- and moderate-income families across Puerto Rico.

The good news is that homelessness has declined by 11 percent since 2007, and in Cleveland, Ohio, where chronic homeless has been a protracted issue, community partners, including KeyBank, have taken a strong stance to remedy it.

The city’s poverty, racial divisions, and general civic dysfunction have also contributed to an urban environment in which sustainability has not been on the agenda.
