Abbott Recognized for Protecting the Environment in Ireland


Abbott was recently recognized for its work to advance sustainability and protect the environment in Ireland. The company received an Excellence In Environment Award at the Chambers Ireland Corporate Social Responsibility Awards.

The award recognizes Abbott’s efforts and results in the execution of programs across its six manufacturing sites in Ireland aimed at improving the environmental efficiency and sustainability of its business operations.

Meet Patricia Duffy from Ireland


A science teacher at St. Mary's Baldoyle in Dublin, Patricia participated in the first year of Amgen Teach after finding out about the programme via Ireland's national training provider, PDST Professional Development Service for Teachers. She has five years' teaching experience and prior to her current career worked in the pharmaceutical industry.

Olympic champion and ARAMARK Ireland Health and Wellness Ambassador Katie Taylor is encouraging people across Cork to try some home-baking and hold a cupcake party during ARAMARK National Cupcake Week, June 28th to July 5th.

ARAMARK will be selling a special Katie Cupcake across all of its food services sites throughout Ireland as part of the fundraising effort. Proceeds from cupcakes sales will go directly to the ARAMARK Charitable Fund in aid of four charities: Red Branch, Console, Bodywhys and Chest, Heart Stroke.

Clear Financial’s Solar21 Renewable-Energy Ireland fund has paid 25 million euros, about $31.4 million dollars, to buy solar power farms in Italy from AEG Power Solutions. The Irish hedge fund is in talks about buying more solar energy production for another 45 million euros, about $56.5 million dollars. Solar21 has 100 million euros, about $125.6 million dollars in assets, and targets 8.5 percent annual returns.
