Company details industry-first goals for emissions reduction among suppliers
PALO ALTO, Calif., September 24, 2013 /3BL Media/ - As part of an ongoing effort to improve its product manufacturing and supply chain operations, HP today announced a greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction goal for its first-tier manufacturing and product-transportation supply chain partners.
HP’s goal, a first for the information technology (IT) industry, is to drive a 20 percent decrease in its first-tier manufacturing and product transportation-related GHG emissions intensity(1)by 2020, compared to 2010.
Software Application (SAP), a major player in the enterprise application software sector, has donated computers to Information Technology entrepreneurs, through an organised fund-raising, which was held in Lekki, Lagos, recently.
The fund-raising was done to mark this year’s physical fitness day organised by SAP, in conjunction with Fate Foundation. About 50 SAP Nigerian employees and partners participated in a Corporate Walk and Fitness programme.

Since launching a dedicated, focused effort in attracting and hiring military veterans this time last year we have experienced great strides! We’ve accomplished a number of tremendous things in a short time and continue to drive forward to hire military veterans.
Like many of you, I spent much of my adult life on active duty, and still have a special place in my heart for members of our military. This Memorial Day, and each and every day, we pay tribute to all the active duty service members, the veterans and their families for their service and sacrifice.
This week I had the privilege of attending an event at the White House where the First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama, and John Chambers, Chairman and CEO of Cisco, unveiled a new program to give returning military service members a fast track to the training and certifications needed for high-demand IT jobs.
