Since 2015, Las Vegas Sands has made addressing the homelessness issue in its corporate headquarters its primary issue. We have a core focus on youth homelessness, along with targeted initiatives that can strongly impact all people experiencing homelessness in our community. Our commitment involves a three-pronged strategy that leverages our position as a major business leader to be a catalyst for change: delivering immediate relief, driving long-term problem-solving, and advocating for change.
Sands ECO360, the company’s global sustainability strategy, reflects its commitment to reducing its environmental footprint on the planet. Marina Bay Sands held a weeklong sustainability electronic waste or "e-waste" recycling roadshow in September for Team Members.
More than 500 volunteers in Las Vegas joined Las Vegas Sands and social enterprises Clean the World and the American Red Cross to build 35,000 hygiene and comfort kits to support populations in need. The large community volunteer effort was in part with the company’s global annual kit build and its active approach on community preparedness. Through Sands Cares, LVS’ global corporate giving and Team Member engagement program, the company is committed to making the communities where they operate a better place to live and providing aid during times of disaster and emergencies.

Las Vegas Sands takes leadership role in implementing a plan to end youth homelessness
Ron Reese is the senior vice president of global communications and corporate affairs at Las Vegas Sands, joining the global Integrated Resort developer in 2003. In his role, Reese drives the overall corporate communications platform and directs corporate affairs initiatives that bring awareness to the company’s business and corporate citizenship achievements, as well as support the company’s global expansion plans.

Arash Ghafoori is the Executive Director of the Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth (NPHY), Southern Nevada’s most comprehensive service provider for homeless youth. Leveraging his diverse background in policy, academia, and the start-up and corporate worlds, Ghafoori has transformed NPHY into a community leader on issues affecting Southern Nevada’s homeless youth.
