The Las Vegas community joins together on November 2 at the 2nd Annual Youth Homelessness Summit in Las Vegas. Below are two stories from this collaboration between Las Vegas Sands and the Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth.
Las Vegas Sands and long-time partner, Clean the World, have hosted hygiene kit builds every year since 2014.
Las Vegas Sands and long-time partner, Clean the World, have hosted hygiene kit builds every year since 2014. The first year, the large volunteer effort brought in a total of 100,000 hygiene kits for populations in need. The kit builds have expanded into a global event in the US, Macao, and Singapore and support the company’s active approach on community relief and disaster preparedness efforts through Sands Cares, the company’s global corporate giving and community engagement program.
Each month, the Las Vegas United Service Organizations (USO) hosts two Deployed Family Dinners for spouses and children who have a family member that is actively deployed. The USO Las Vegas helps provide a home away from home and a sense of community for more than 32,200 active duty troops, more than 4,700 National Guard personnel, Reservist, and their families based in Southern Nevada.
In response to the Macau Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau (IACM) calling on the Macao community to help alleviate damage throughout the city caused by Typhoon Mangkhut, 60 volunteers from Sands China Ltd.’s (SCL) Sands Cares Ambassador program helped clean up Hac Sa beach, where they disposed of branches, debris, and helped shovel displaced sand back onto the beach. Marina Bay Sands has implemented an innovative two-day Learning Leave incentive for its over 9,700 Team Members to enroll in SkillsFuture courses. Believed to be the first such initiative in the hospitality industry, the two-day program allows all full-time staff to take paid leave to attend courses related to language and communication, service excellence and information technology.

Through the program, Las Vegas Sands developed INSPIRE, an annual charity event and concert that has featured Jewel and Jason Mraz, as its annual fundraiser for Accelerator program participants.
