Whitewater, WI, July 24, 2013 /3BL Media/ — Leonardo Academy announces the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design – New Construction (LEED-NC) certification of Laurentide Hall at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
This project was a total renovation of an existing, five-story academic building into new consolidated offices for the Letters and Science faculty. The project completed LEED-NC certification on June 13, 2013 with 46 points awarded.

Honeywell will supply automakers with a new refrigerant that reduces greenhouse gas emissions. The new coolant, HFO-1234yf, offers a 99 percent improvement in lowering global warming over the previously used auto refrigerant, HFC-134a. The change is being driven by the European Union’s Mobile Air Conditioning Directive, that took effect on January 1 of this year, and that aims to reduce emissions of specific fluorinated greenhouse gases in the air-conditioning systems of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles.

Madison, WI, January 23, 2013 /3BL Media/ – The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has awarded Leonardo Academy a $1,600,000 Diesel Emission Reduction Act Grant. Since 2008, EPA has funded nearly 60,000 pieces of clean diesel technology through the National Clean Diesel Campaign. The projects help improve local and national air quality by deploying proven technologies much earlier than would otherwise occur. Leonardo Academy’s award will impact an estimated 50 diesel engines in EPA Region 5, throughout the Upper Midwest.
