ROSTOCK, Germany, September 17, 2019 /3BL Media/ How can we use innovations to tackle climate change? That was one of the central questions at the UNWTO summit meeting which took place in Saint Petersburg (Russia) from September 10–13, 2019. AIDA Cruises President Felix Eichhorn had been invited to discuss approaches for achieving climate targets with high-ranking representatives of the member countries of the UN world organization for tourism.
AIDA Cruises and Corvus Energy sign agreement for further cooperation at the opening of the first production plant of the battery manufacturer in Norway.
On the occasion of the opening of Corvus Energy's first production plant in Bergen, Norway, AIDA President Felix Eichhorn and the world's most renowned provider of maritime battery systems signed the agreement on September 5, 2019 to electrify the first cruise ship of AIDA Cruises. AIDAperla will be the first ship to be fitted with lithium-ion batteries from Corvus, produced in Norway, in 2020. The 300-meter-long cruise ship receives a battery pack capable of generating a total output of 10 MWh.
First on the road, then at home: after serving their time in electric vehicles, recycled lithium-ion batteries make ideal stationary energy storage devices.
Lithium-ion batteries are the untiring driving force behind electric mobility. They deliver their full output on board vehicles for at least ten years. Nevertheless, there always comes a point where a battery makes its last journey and is duly removed from service. But even after completing their automotive stint, there’s still life in these power packs. These batteries are veritable treasure troves of raw materials.
Lithium-ion batteries are the go-to power source for power tools, and wireless charging is making battery-operated power tools even more efficient.
Battery power could be thought of as the most important yet least considered element of power tool operation. Great battery power, runtime and longevity are expected. But a lot of technology and brainpower goes into the ongoing march toward greater productivity. Here’s what the landscape looks like today.
Another game changer for the electric vehicle and renewable energy sectors
