November 25, 2015 /3BL Media/ -- In support of Military Families Appreciation Month this November, Booz Allen Hamilton has worked with our nonprofit partners to lend a hand in performing community service activities that strengthen and support military families.
For military spouses who want to work, many pursue positions that are mobile and transferable, such as child care or retail sales, despite having the qualifications and desire to pursue careers in other industries. As a result, many military spouses find themselves unemployed or underemployed.
Major Leaguers brought their City Clinics instructional program to veterans and their families in Arizona and Texas in the weeks following the regular season – and sandwiched between the Veterans Day holiday.
Chris Capuano, A.J. Griffin, Donnie Murphy and Eric Young, Jr. took part in a clinic held in Phoenix on Nov. 7, sharing their love for the game with 65 kids whose dads, moms and other relatives have served in the U.S. military.
On Veterans Day, we celebrate and honor America’s veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to sacrifice for us all.
As a veteran, I fully comprehend the challenges of translating active duty skills to a civilian job. At TWC, we focus on attracting and hiring great talent, which includes the talented veteran population. Currently, 8.2 percent of our workforce self-identifies as veterans—higher than the national average of veterans within the job force.
Each year, on November 11th, our country comes together to recognize the commitment the men and women of our armed forces make to protect our freedom and uphold the liberties we have been afforded. During the event, including a surprise guest appearance, Blue Star Families and Disney VoluntEARS engaged military children and their families in art activities, including: making pirate swords, crowns and bookmarks.

More than 790 projects were fulfilled, benefitting more than 680 teachers and more than 83,690 students. We gave more than $532,000 in honor of Veterans Day.
