CHICAGO, November 14, 2018 /3BL Media/ —For the second year at Greenbuild, Mohawk Industries will showcase from both residential and commercial divisions sustainable flooring solutions designed to minimize impact on the planet. The world’s largest conference and expo dedicated to green building, Greenbuild takes place Nov. 14–16, 2018, in Chicago at McCormick Place, with Mohawk brands exhibiting in booth space 1503. This year’s theme is “Human by Nature” and focuses on the intersection of humanity and the built environment.
Environmental initiatives frequently outshine the very communities they were designed to assist. But that need not be the case. A recent project by flooring manufacturer Mohawk Industries demonstrates the potential to facilitate social empowerment and positive environmental impact continuously cultivated through “handprints” — initiatives that give more back to people and communities than they take, while helping minimize overall carbon footprint.
Employees at Mohawk Industries recently took part in their company-wide Pink Out to rally in support of Susan G. Komen. The annual event is part of the flooring manufacturer’s annual observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and took place at the corporate headquarters in Calhoun, Ga. Each year, employees come together to learn more about the company’s corporate partnership with the organization and receive updates on the latest initiatives and monetary amounts donated back to Susan G. Komen since 2001.
