Media Impact celebrates "International Day of the Girl"

Oct. 11, 2012 /3BL Media/ - Today marks the International Day of the Girl, an initiative fueled by the United Nations General Assembly Resolution on the International Day of the Girl Child, “to help galvanize worldwide enthusiasm for goals to better girls’ lives, providing an opportunity for them to show leadership and reach their full potential.”  This day represents a movement to speak out against gender bias and advocate for girls’ rights everywhere.

Water politics reached new dramatic heights in Valle de Angeles, Honduras this year thanks to the efforts of Red de Desarrollo Sostenible (RDS - Sustainable Development Network) Honduras. In partnership with PCI-Media Impact, RDS has produced and broadcast Agua de Angel’ (‘Angel Water’), an Entertainment-Education radio drama that focuses on environmental conservation, with water being a critical issue.

PCI-Media Impact launches the sixth year of My Community, a unique social change communications program designed to help communities help themselves remove the barriers to health services and environmental preservation. My Community is taking place in Bolivia, Ecuador, Colombia, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, and Peru. With the support and partnership of 36 community-based NGOs, My Community is empowering over 12 million people with important information on basic human rights and securing their well-being with access to vital health care and a clean living area.
