Megan Hanrahan is a design engineer at Tetra Tech, specializing in structural engineering. She has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from University of California, Irvine, and a master’s degree in Structural Engineering from University of California, Los Angeles. She passed the national PE exam and is currently in the application process for the California survey and seismic exams. Providing innovative water treatment design and construction oversight services in Liberia
The American Council of Engineering Companies of Massachusetts (ACEC/MA) honored Tetra Tech with the 2019 Engineering Excellence Gold Award for its achievements on the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Liberia Municipal Water Project (LMWP) I & II. This award recognizes engineering projects for innovation, complexity, fulfillment of client needs, socio-economic considerations, and future value to the profession.
Designing a unique, multiuse stormwater capture facility and recreational space for the Los Angeles community
The City of Los Angeles recognized Tetra Tech for its work on the civil engineering design of the Albion Riverside Park in Los Angeles, California. The City presented Tetra Tech’s project team with a certificate of recognition as part of the ribbon cutting ceremony for the park in March 2019. Tetra Tech’s work included pre-design, civil engineering design, and construction support services for the project.
Expanding electrical engineering expertise through challenging projects and team work
Priyanka Varshney is an electrical engineer-in-training working on nuclear energy at Tetra Tech and based in Pickering, Ontario. With her interest in clean energy, she enjoys exploring opportunities to bring advancements to the energy sector and spark conversations with industry experts about technological impacts on the sector. Priyanka has a bachelor’s degree from Aligarh Muslim University in electrical engineering and diploma certificate from University of London in general management. She joined Tetra Tech in 2016.
Using operations research and analytics to improve sustainable sewer management in Kentucky
Tetra Tech won the prestigious Franz Edelman Award, which recognizes the ways that operation research and analytics are improving how people live and work around the globe. This accolade, which was announced at the INFORMS gala on April 15, 2019, recognizes Tetra Tech’s partnership with the Louisville Metropolitan Sewer District (MSD) in Kentucky to implement real-time control (RTC) software to manage the city’s sewer network.
Improving water quality through stormwater diversion and treatment
As part of the Los Cerritos Watershed Management Plan, the City of Lakewood, California, selected Tetra Tech to provide preliminary engineering, design services, and construction support services for the stormwater and runoff capture project in Bolivar Park.
Bolivar Park currently uses potable water for all irrigation needs. The City is implementing a smart regional stormwater best management practice that results in water quality improvements in the Los Cerritos channel, enables stormwater infiltration, and provides an alternate water supply for the park’s irrigation needs.
