The sheer abundance of hydrogen on this planet, along with the gas’ status as a clean burning fuel, makes it an appealing decarbonization tool. The alternative fuel source can be derived from water and has uses across sectors including food processing, fertilizer, medicines and rocket fuel. SBTi Validates and Approves Illumina's Climate Action Targets


It is official! The Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) has independently validated and approved Illumina’s climate action GHG emissions reduction targets. Approving our targets indicates they have been confirmed to be consistent with the reductions required to keep warming to 1.5°C, the most ambitious goal of the Paris Agreement and most ambitious designation available through the SBTi verification process.
