American Express funds much-needed volunteer efforts in national parks
WASHINGTON, April 18, 2018 /3BL Media/ -In celebration of National Volunteer Week, the National Park Foundation and American Express are announcing seven grants supporting volunteer capacity-building efforts at national parks across the country. Designed to support the growth of park volunteer programs, projects funded by the grants include expansion of volunteer housing space, development of recruitment handbooks, and outreach to neighboring communities.

The president and CEO of Big Brothers & Big Sisters (BBBS) of Essex, Hudson and Union Counties took over the then struggling agency in 2008. Within four years, he went from serving approximately 100 youth to serving more than 1,000. Under his leadership, BBBS has received numerous awards from local, state and national organizations.
