The annual breakfast event, held at the Art Museum of South Texas, hosted guests from local industry; businesses; educational institutions, including Foy H. Moody High School, home of the CITGO Innovation Academy; and non-profit organizations, such as the United Way of the Coastal Bend and the Coastal Bend Food Bank.
LEMONT, Ill., December 14, 2017 /3BL Media/ - The CITGO Lemont Refinery, in partnership with The Conservation Foundation and the Village of Lemont, continued their environmental restoration project in the Heritage Quarries Recreation Area (HQRA) this past October. Volunteers worked together to remove invasive plant species in visible areas by trimming trees and removing invasive brush.
TeamCITGO Participates in Inaugural Volunteer Event at Beach Cleanup
SAN NICOLAS, Aruba, December 13, 2017 /3BL Media/ - This past November, TeamCITGO Aruba participated in the annual Aruba Hotel and Tourism Association (AHTA) Beach Cleanup from Baby Beach to the dog cemetery in San Nicolas. The event was the first volunteer outreach for the new volunteer organization and 95 TeamCITGO volunteers filled approximately 175 trash bags with trash from the beach area. Trash was then transported to the event’s central drop off point at Seroe Colorado to be properly disposed of.
LEMONT, Ill., December 12, 2017 /3BL Media/ - CITGO Lemont Refinery celebrated National STEM Day on Nov. 8 with more than 360 students, teachers and parents from Homer Glenn, Lemont, Lockport and Romeoville participating in 29 hands-on STEM activities and live demonstrations. The event is part of the CITGO STEM Talent Pipeline, a program that seeks to increase access to educational opportunities in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).
LEMONT, Ill., November 21, 2017 /3BL Media/- The CITGO Lemont Refinery and mobile literacy outreach program, Bess the Book Bus, brought the joy of reading to local students at St. Cyril and Methodius School in Lemont during the month of October.
Approximately 105 books were distributed to St. Cyril and Methodius School students. Students were able to pick out their very own book to take home and then enjoyed participating in an interactive and hands-on drum circle hosted by Bess the Book Bus Partner, Giving Tree Music.
First phase to accommodate 400 workers during refinery refurbishment project
SAN NICOLAS, Aruba, November 20, 2017 /3BL Media/ – The first phase of an envisioned 1,500-bed man camp that will house workers needed to support the CITGO Aruba Refinery refurbishment project on the island is almost complete. This first construction phase of the man camp—which will be situated in the same location used by the refinery’s previous operator—consists of dormitory buildings and service facilities that can house up to 400 workers.
LEMONT, Ill., November 17, 2017 /3BL Media/ - CITGO Lemont Refinery and the Village of Lemont and Lemont Environmental Advisory Commission partnered to host the semi-annual fall Recycling Day on Oct. 14. The event provided an opportunity for community residents to drop off unwanted recyclable items and household waste.
