Eggart manages GE's remote monitoring and diagnostics center in Atlanta, Georgia, where he oversees the operation of 1,500 gas and steam turbines totaling 200 gigawatts of capacity. That represents roughly 25 percent of the world's power plant mix.

General Electric To Supply Wind Turbines To Turkey

General Electric Company (NYSE:GE) said that it would supply 43 turbines to  Fina Enerji Holding AS for wind projects in Turkey.

The wind projects will generate 97 megawatts of power which will be able to light up about 27,000 homes in Turkey. GE will supply the Kizilcaterzi wind farm, the Karadere park, the Sadilli project and the Salman venture in the nation’s west, according to a GE statement.

Turkey has plans to generate 20,000 megawatts of power via wind energy by 2013 from its current capacity of 1,800 MW now.
