COLUMBUS, Ohio, October 18, 2018 /3BL Media/ – The Ohio Diversity Council is proud to welcome Dr. Cornel West as the keynote speaker for the 2018 Diversity and Leadership Conference. The conference will take place in Columbus, Ohio at the HYATT Regency Columbus on October 25, 2018.
This year, The Wendy’s Company Annual Frosty 5K raised $110,000 for the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.
The event was held on July 15 in Columbus, Ohio and had more than 800 participants. The race started and ended downtown at Huntington Park, home of the Columbus Clippers. Runners and walkers took the course through downtown, across the Scioto Mile and finished in the outfield of the minor-league stadium.
Universal Pictures Chairman Donna Langley was optimistic at Fortunem agazine’s Most Powerful Women Summit in October 2016. “I’m having more conversations with more people about inclusion and diversity than I’ve ever had in my career, and I’m really encouraged by that,” said Donna, who has championed on- and off-screen diversity throughout her tenure at the studio.
College students’ social encounters on campus shape their college experience. Therefore, it is imperative that campuses foster inclusive environments where all students feel valued, respected and celebrated. This in mind, the need for a sense of belonging is more pressing than ever. Our society’s tendency to display racial intolerance, cultural disengagement and lack of understanding across differences calls for more culturally aware campuses.
On March 9, the Fox | HBCU Media Alliance wrapped the "The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story" historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) screening and Talk Back Tour. The multi-city tour was headlined by members of the cast from the FX Networks hit series, including Cuba Gooding, Jr., Sterling K. Brown, Courtney B. Vance and director John Singleton, all of whom participated in dynamic conversations that touched on the issues relevant to the series' themes of race, celebrity, discrimination, police corruption and sexism.
The Bloomberg Square Mile Relay kicked off its 5-city tour in London on September 17, as Mike Bloomberg led the crowd through a final countdown unleashing 1,100 relay runners through the City of London.
CITGO Petroleum and Nisbet Oil Sponsor community bike race in Charlotte
CHARLOTTE, N.C., May 6, 2015 /3BL Media/ – For the second year, CITGO Petroleum Corporation and Nisbet Oil are bringing Charlotte cyclists together for the weekly CITGO Fueling Good Charlotte Mountain Bike Series, a 12 race series that began April 15 and runs every Wednesday evening through August. Open to participants of all ages, the series provides an opportunity for cyclists to race at a lower cost, as entrance fees and administrative costs are subsidized by CITGO and Nisbet Oil.
