You go see your doctor, and you may go to several doctors, but eventually you are diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS). And you are just one of 200 people in the United States who are diagnosed every week with this debilitating condition.
Brixio, a fast-moving startup focused on disrupting the commercial real estate world, recently approached America’s Charities’ team about starting a social responsibility initiative to support our nonprofit member, the LIVESTRONG Foundation.
After discussing their vision and needs, our team quickly got the ball rolling. Brixio needed our help with two things:

Together, they supported the development of a sustainable mango industry in Haiti.
Each year, 12 million dogs and cats are diagnosed with cancer. Many of these cancers have few treatments and no chance at a cure. In fact, cancer accounts for nearly 50 percent of all disease-related pet deaths every year, and is the leading cause of death in dogs over the age of 10, meaning many families are losing their beloved companion animals far too soon to this devastating disease.
Fifty years ago a child diagnosed with leukemia lived at best 6 months. Today children are living 5 years, 10 years and in some cases are in permanent remission, thanks to research that has brought advancements in chemotherapy, drugs and transplants.
