Refinery employees lead an annual food drive prior to Thanksgiving to help local organizations fill their shelves before the holidays.

The Coastal Bend Bays Foundation presented the award to CITGO in recognition of the refinery’s efforts to reduce waste generation and air emissions.
TeamCITGO Participates in Inaugural Volunteer Event at Beach Cleanup
SAN NICOLAS, Aruba, December 13, 2017 /3BL Media/ - This past November, TeamCITGO Aruba participated in the annual Aruba Hotel and Tourism Association (AHTA) Beach Cleanup from Baby Beach to the dog cemetery in San Nicolas. The event was the first volunteer outreach for the new volunteer organization and 95 TeamCITGO volunteers filled approximately 175 trash bags with trash from the beach area. Trash was then transported to the event’s central drop off point at Seroe Colorado to be properly disposed of.

TeamCITGO volunteers packed and distributed 200 backpacks filled with school supplies at Robstown High School as part of the 5th Annual Abel Herrero School Supply Giveaway.

TeamCITGO is the volunteer organization of the CITGO Lake Charles Refinery and was the first established employee-led industrial volunteer group in the area, donating thousands of community service hours to local charitable organizations throughout the last three decades.
LEMONT, Ill., June 2, 2016 /3BL Media/ – TeamCITGO volunteers at the CITGO Lemont Refinery helped their community by holding a supply drive benefiting three local domestic violence shelters and the at-risk women and children they serve. Based on specific requests from the organizations, CITGO employees and contractors at the refinery, donated personal care products, clothing and household items for the Guardian Angel Community Services, Lamb’s Fold Women’s Center and Crisis Center for South Suburbia.
CITGO employees volunteer to help restore facilities for local special needs summer camp
Lemont, Ill., September 21, 2015 /3BL Media/ - Members of TeamCITGO, the employee volunteer team at the CITGO Lemont Refinery, helped Shady Oaks Camp in Homer Glen, Ill., prepare its grounds this summer for more than 60 special needs campers for the 2015 summer session. Shady Oaks Camp holds its beautification day annually to refurbish its 30-acre facility for both children and adults with physical and developmental disabilities. This year, several volunteers from the Lemont Refinery participated in this day of service.
