Partners in Purpose: Bridgestone Nature Reserve at Chestnut Mountain

Since the 1970s, Bridgestone has owned and managed 6,000 acres east of Nashville, Tennessee. In June 2018, this land was donated to The Nature Conservancy. In addition to being an ideal and protected home for wildlife, the reserve also offsets the carbon emissions produced by Nashville's Bridgestone Tower.

Walmart's First Electric Vehicle Charging Stations in Tennessee Installed at Ooltewah Store

As Walmart continues to seek to provide convenient services for its customers and contribute to reducing emissions in the communities where it operates, the retailer announced on Wednesday the installation of eight Electrify America electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at its Ooltewah Supercenter at 5588 Little Debbie Parkway. The EV chargers are Walmart’s first in the state, and are operational and ready for customers to use. 

Following a simple “plug-pay-charge-go” sequence, users are guided through their experience by the 15-inch touchscreen on each charger.

At the end of the summer of 2016, we reached a remarkable milestone – 10 million pledges to not drive distracted. The It Can Wait campaign and the 10 million pledge count represent the dedication of so many to keep our roads safe. Today, seven-in-ten people admit to smartphone activity behind the wheel.

Facts like those are why we continue to set our sights higher. After hitting the 10 million pledge mark, we set the ambitious goal of reaching 16 million pledges to not drive distracted by the end of 2016.
