The U.S. Navy Region Southwest received the prestigious FY 2016 Chief of Naval Operations Environmental Award for the Environmental Restoration, Installation category for the design-build of remediation systems for volatile organic compound (VOC)-contaminated groundwater, soil gas, and indoor air at Naval Base Point Loma in California. Tetra Tech is proud to have contributed to the success of this project and to have supported the Navy in protecting human health and the environment.

Developing a tracking system to combat fraud and promote sustainability of vital marine ecosystems
The Asia-Pacific region’s waters are home to some of the world’s most productive and biodiverse marine ecosystems, providing food and income to more than 200 million people. However, these waters are also rife with illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing practices that threaten the biodiversity of the region, as well as regional and global food security. Tetra Tech is supporting the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in a multinational effort to increase the sustainability of fishing in the Asia-Pacific region.
Providing an innovative solution to develop and conserve water supplies in the state of Texas
The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) highlighted the Tetra Tech-supported H2Oaks Center, a project to develop and sustain water supplies in San Antonio, on its website. Population and industrial growth, combined with three years of drought, exhausted the water supply available to many Texas communities and increased the need for innovative solutions to support long-term needs.

Consulting Engineers of Alberta (CEA) presented Tetra Tech (EBA) with an Environmental Award of Merit at the CEA Showcase Awards Gala, an event attended by more than 500 industry leaders in February 2017. The Showcase Awards recognize excellence in consulting engineering in Alberta and throughout the world. Tetra Tech received the Environmental Award of Merit for its work with Newalta Corporation to design a closure approach for a former oilfield waste land treatment facility south of Drayton Valley, Alberta.

On March 16, 2017, the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) presented Dr. Harry Poulos of Coffey, A Tetra Tech Company, with the 2017 Lifetime Achievement Award in Design during its annual Outstanding Projects and Leaders (OPAL) Gala in Arlington, Virginia. The award honors an outstanding civil engineering leader for lifetime accomplishments in innovation and excellence in civil engineering design.
Helping to accelerate investments and bring the public and private sectors together to deliver critical water projects across the country
In December 2016, Congress passed the Water Infrastructure Improvements for the Nation Act which funds the Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act (WIFIA) program to be administered by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). WIFIA is designed to help accelerate investments and bring the public and private sectors together to deliver critical water projects across the country. The WIFIA program, which can cover up to 49 percent of projects’ eligible costs, provides a critical, long-term, low-cost, customized capital solution to help catalyze investment in the sector.
