MSI, A Tetra Tech Company, was selected as the prime implementer of the CEGAH (meaning prevent in Indonesian Bahasa) project, an anti-corruption program, funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), designed to strengthen Indonesia’s community of accountability by providing integrated capacity building efforts for the judiciary, executive, and independent agencies; civil society; media; and the private sector at both the national and subnational levels.
Helping USAID organize and launch the Women’s Empowerment Fair with the support of Afghanistan’s First Lady
On April 25, 2017, Afghanistan’s First Lady Rula Ghani launched the U.S. Agency for International Development’s (USAID) Women’s Empowerment Fair in Kabul, Afghanistan. This event showcased the work undertaken over the past ten years by a number of projects and organizations including the Tetra Tech-implemented USAID Women’s Leadership Development (WLD) project and the USAID Initiative to Strengthen Local Administrations (ISLA).
Developing a tracking system to combat fraud and promote sustainability of vital marine ecosystems
The Asia-Pacific region’s waters are home to some of the world’s most productive and biodiverse marine ecosystems, providing food and income to more than 200 million people. However, these waters are also rife with illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing practices that threaten the biodiversity of the region, as well as regional and global food security. Tetra Tech is supporting the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in a multinational effort to increase the sustainability of fishing in the Asia-Pacific region.

June 2016 Updates
Generation Mexico has now graduated 290 young adults from our first program, focused on retail cashiers. Graduates currently have an 80% placement rate within two weeks after graduation. Last month, we launched a second program in sales and customer service, and already have 50 students enrolled in it.

Here’s what we’re doing about it:
In Kenya, our current focus is on sales roles in the fast-growing banking and insurance sector and on stock assistant roles in the booming retail sector. Generation currently mobilizes and recruits young people into both programs and offers support post-graduation during employment.
100 percent of the 500 people trained in 2015 were placed into jobs.
90 million young people are out of work in India and 200 million are underemployed.

Generation pinpoints high-growth sectors, then works with employers to develop a focused curriculum that delivers the professional and personal skills that young people need to build successful careers in those sectors. In India, our initial focus is on healthcare — a sector that exhibits incredibly high demand for trained individuals.
