Since 2004, Booz Allen Hamilton has supported FIRST® (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) and its mission to engage and educate tomorrow’s tech leaders and innovators. Hundreds of Booz Allen employees have volunteered thousands of hours teaching young people how to push the boundaries of what’s possible and empowering them to change the world.

Meet Matt Erskine. He’s an executive advisor at Booz Allen, former deputy assistant secretary at the U.S. Department of Commerce, and a FIRST volunteer. Matt recently teamed up with about 50 other volunteers from Booz Allen, and FIRST supporters Rockwell Collins and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, to build LEGO® mission models for Virginia-DC FIRST LEGO League.

Matt told us more about his volunteer experience and how playing with LEGOs inspires innovation in both kids and adults.
