Whirlpool, 100 Women Strong joins forces for gender equality
ST. JOSEPH, Mich., March 9, 2017 /3BL Media/— Shannon Sigmund likes to talk about women’s rights and is the first to explain that feminism isn’t just for one gender.
The St. Joseph resident was among the dozens of women who gathered at Plank’s Tavern on the Water on Wednesday to take part in Tennies & Toasts. The public event was put on by the Women’s Network, a Whirlpool Corp. employee resource group, as a way to celebrate women and raise funds for 100 Women Strong.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind., September 20, 2016 /3BL Media/ -- For much of their 12-year marriage, Jeff and Carla Wyatt hadn’t entertained many thoughts of buying a home. But their life took a significant turn when they assumed custody of their two young granddaughters.
“It was what we needed,” Carla said of their apartment, which was affordable but in poor repair. “But once we took guardianship of the girls, it was not going to work anymore.”
“The need for the house came after the girls came,” added Jeff, who works at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church.
Whirlpool Corporation on Friday released its 2015 Sustainability Report, which highlights how the appliance manufacturer continues to build upon its 46 year commitment to sustainability. Whirlpool Corp. is reducing its environmental footprint across functionalities – from investing in sustainable manufacturing practices to engineering energy efficient consumer products.
