Booz Allen Volunteers Go Wild at the National Zoo

A team of Booz Allen volunteers descended upon the National Zoo in Washington, DC on a brisk October 17th morning to tackle clean-up projects in two of the Zoo’s most popular exhibits: the Bird House Aviary and the Cheetah Conservation Station. Volunteers took on jobs ranging from raking leaves and replacing mulch to shoveling landscaping stones and clearing debris from animal enclosures. The day wrapped up with behind-the-scenes opportunities to meet several Zoo favorites including the cheetahs, zebras, and cranes, and a special bird banding experience with experts from the Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center.  The day of volunteering with the National Zoo is part of Booz Allen employees’ commitment to working with nonprofit organizations that help make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
