GoDaddy Partners With Silver Lining to Inspire Local Leaders to Take Action & Create Positive Change for Microbusinesses

GoDaddy, the company empowering everyday entrepreneurs around the world, has teamed up with Silver Lining to create the Local Leader’s Action Plan to inspire local leaders to create positive change for microbusiness and spark conversation within communities.

When Silver Lining surveyed 100 US-based business owners who are still operating and with less than five employees, they uncovered that 100% of these businesses believe that the resources provided by economic development agencies and local business support organizations are not meeting their needs.

Insights from Venture Forward, a multiyear research effort by GoDaddy to quantify the impact of microbusinesses on their local communities, also inspired the Action Plan. For example, Venture Research research found that 77% of microbusinesses surveyed without a website believe that having one would boost revenue.

To inspire local leaders to take action and to serve as a usable guide, GoDaddy and Silver Lining created a robust plan of practical and actionable ideas on modernizing technical assistance programs, empowering digital enablement, innovating access to capital, increasing Wi-Fi access, and making healthcare affordable.

"Microbusinesses build and strengthen local communities," said Stacy Cline, Senior Director, Corporate Social Responsibility at GoDaddy. "It is critical that our local governments and policymakers listen to the real needs of these entrepreneurs and understand how to best support and foster entrepreneurship for all. We're thrilled to partner with Silver Lining on The Local Leaders Action Plan in the hopes of providing actionable guidance to inspire local leaders."
