Congratulations to the latest group of PSEG employees to graduate from the company’s Joule Leadership Program, a senior leadership development program designed to enhance and accelerate development and mobility for people of color in PSEG’s senior leadership pipeline. This session’s cohort included 18 high-potential Hispanic and Latino employees from across the lines of business. The objective of the program is to increase talent visibility and exposure, and provide opportunities for development of diverse PSEG talent.

“At today’s PSEG, we are increasingly aware that people with talent and ability need to be recognized and cultivated wherever and whoever they are, and that we cannot allow ourselves to exclude anyone for any reason or criteria. The Joule program was created with this objective in mind,” said Chairman, President and CEO Ralph Izzo. “By cultivating diverse talent, and then providing the right environment and circumstances for everyone to do their best work, we’re able to make our company better. And that achieves the goal of an all-around win: a win for our employees, for our customers, and for our shareholders.”

During the past six months, participants were exposed to curated speaking opportunities as thought leaders, executive coaching and senior advisement. Chief Human Resources Officer and Chief Diversity Officer Sheila Rostiac and Senior Vice President for Corporate Citizenship Rick Thigpen served as executive sponsors and advisors. Additional advisors included Chief Operating Officer Ralph LaRossa, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Dan Cregg, and Executive Vice President and General Counsel Tammy Linde.

“Put simply, a joule is a scientific measurement of energy transferred. As Chief Human Resources Officer and Chief Diversity Officer, I am committed to transferring energy toward the design and delivery of our Joule development program focused specifically on people of color in our leadership pipeline,” Rostiac said. “Congratulations and continued success to these employees. I look forward to our next cohort this fall, comprising Asian American and Pacific Islander employees.”

Thigpen added, “Congratulations to the graduates of the Joule program. There is no shortage of qualified, talented professionals at PSEG, and this program is an important step toward having the leaders here at PSEG continue to reflect the communities we serve.”

The program provided each participant with the opportunity to expand professionally and personally through a balanced blend of internal exposure and external development.

“The best way to impact the success of an organization is to have a deliberate strategy on talent and leadership development, and the Joule program is important part of this strategy. The program was created from a need and a vision with the objective to increase visibility, exposure, and provide opportunities for development of diverse and inclusive talent,” Director of Learning and Organizational Development Debra Pool said. “These graduates were selected based on performance and potential for this unique leadership experience. Each of these graduates grew as a leader and created an amazing support system for each other – their ‘familia.’ I look forward to their continued growth.”

The program lived up to its name, energizing its participants to apply what they learned to grow and develop in leadership roles in the company.
