Lata Reddy, vice president of Corporate Social Responsibility and president of The Prudential Foundation, was honored on Thursday, May 5 at the Executive Women of New Jersey’s “Salute to the Policy Makers” award dinner. The award recognized the contributions of 38 of the most accomplished and influential women leaders who live and/or work in New Jersey.

Lata was honored for her commitment and long-term contributions to New Jersey communities and her collaborative approach to aligning Prudential’s founding purpose with the company’s business goals. EWNJ is a nonprofit organization that brings professional women together for collaboration and enhancement of business relationships.

“At Prudential, we strive to meet the challenge of helping individuals and families achieve financialsecurity,” said John Strangfeld, chairman and CEO of Prudential Financial. “Lata’s leadership and vision for Prudential’s social responsibility work has allowed us to build upon our founding purpose and make a true impact in our communities. As the head of Prudential’s Office of Corporate Social Responsibility, Lata has achieved outstanding results both nationally, and more specifically, in our headquarters city of Newark. From the New Jersey Performing Arts Center to the redevelopment of the Hahne’s Building to Military Park and the addition of three new hotels in Newark, these developments demonstrate Lata’s ideas and passion for positive change. On behalf of the company, I congratulate Lata on this honor and know there are more accolades to come for her and her work at Prudential.”

In her role, Lata oversees Prudential’s philanthropy, impact investments, corporate contributions and employee engagement for CSR-related activities. Under her leadership, Prudential has committed to creating a $1 billion portfolio in impact investments by 2020.

“Thank you to the Executive Women of New Jersey for this recognition and for including me among a high-caliber group of women who are making a difference in New Jersey in their own unique ways,” said Reddy. “Prudential has called New Jersey, and specifically Newark, home since the company was founded here more than 140 years ago. As we have evolved into a global financial services leader, Prudential has stayed true to our legacy of being a responsible company. This is evident in our loyalty to our hometown of Newark through our long-term investments that we hope create meaningful change for Newark’s residents, the larger community and the state of New Jersey.”
