Campaign: Adoption Stories

Foster care adoption takes dedication and commitment from the families and the children they hope to adopt. It can be a long process depending on circumstances, but the Bruns family never let that dissuade them.

The Bruns became foster parents 10 years ago after their adult children left home. They focused mostly on older youth until the day they received a call about temporary placement for a 1-year-old boy, T.

The temporary placement soon turned permanent - they felt he was meant to be their son and they were meant to be his family. It took five years, but T was adopted by the Bruns and is now permanently a part of their family.

The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption has one mission: to dramatically increase the number of adoptions from foster care. The Foundation funds grants to local adoption agencies that hire specially-trained adoption recruiters who find homes for the children who need them the most.

There are more than 117,000 children in the United States who deserve our best efforts. You can help. Give Now at davethomasfoundation.org/donate
