Here at GM, our more than 219,000 employees around the globe are dedicated to improving the communities where they work and live.

In honor of World Environment Day, we are sharing the story of their positive contributions and actions in keeping our planet healthy.

In the last year alone, more than 100 activities have been organized by employees in our facilities around the world. Here are a few of them.

  • The GM India team has organized free pollution check-up camps at its manufacturing facilities in Talegaon and Halol, along with dealership locations across the country.
  • GM Powertrain-Uzbekistan is hosting an Open Doors day, where they’ve invited the community to come take a look at their sustainable processes and efforts that have led to some significant environmental wins:  Less than 18.8 % of its manufacturing waste goes to landfills.
  • At the Struandale plan in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, the team has launched separation igloos for employees to dispose of recyclable waste from their homes.
