Happy Safer Internet Day 2022! It’s that time of the year again when we support the global effort to make the Internet a safer, more inclusive place. Internet Essentials from Comcast, along with our partner and Safer Internet Day host, ConnectSafely, are invested in empowering everyone to use technology responsibly, respectfully, effectively, and creatively.

Here at Comcast, we are joining organizations around the world to participate in Safer Internet Day in a variety of ways. Internet Essentials has partnered with ConnectSafely to bring the below initiatives to life. I hope you’ll click on the links and share these resources with your communities.

CyberSplash
  • CyberSplash is a fun and educational interactive challenge for middle and high school students, created right here at Comcast by technologists and security professionals on my team.
Search It Up: The Game
  • Search it Up: The Game is a fun and educational interactive challenge for 4-8 y/o created by GBH Boston and PBS Kids, in collaboration with Internet Essentials from Comcast. This initiative builds on the Search it Up video series we collaborated on in 2019.
Online Safety Curriculum
  • Working with ConnectSafely, we’ve developed a set of online safety modules that Internet Essentials and Lift Zone partners can use to engage with their students.
A Conversation about Online Safety
  • A week ago, I was interviewed by Jason Maymon, Vice President of Communications, Common Sense Media. We had a great conversation about online safety practices and answered questions from some very smart teenagers from one of our Lift Zone partners in Philadelphia.
Social-First Infographic
  • We partnered with artist and activist Danielle Coke to raise awareness on Safer Internet Day and to share tips for better online experiences.

I am so grateful to all of our partners around the country who are doing the work to not only connect their communities to the power of the Internet, but who are also helping them learn how to use it safely and effectively.

For over a decade, Comcast has been connecting people to the Internet and technology they need to excel in an increasingly digital world. Internet Essentials and Lift Zones are core to this work, which is why we’re so committed to supporting our Internet Essentials and Lift Zone partners as you educate your communities to use the Internet safely and effectively. These efforts, and many more, are part of Project UP, Comcast’s comprehensive, ten-year, $1 billion commitment to help build a future of unlimited possibilities.

Wishing you all a fun and educational Internet Safety Day and year!
