Our new online account management (OAM) portal delivers an intuitive and interactive resource to our customers. During its initial launch phase, between November 2018 and May 2019, the OAM portal not only put energy information and functionality in our customers’ hands but also gave back and improved the quality of life for all the communities in which we serve. During this timeframe, every individual/customer who signed up for OAM was able to make a $50 donation to one of four non-profit organizations — on behalf of NRG. The goal was to highlight the improved connection customers had with the new portal, while also improving the connection between them and their communities. 

Customers chose from one of the following organizations to donate to: American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, American Red Cross, and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. In just six months, the results were astonishing. The OAM portal gained 80 new customers and raised a total of $4,000 in charity. Overall, the initiative amounted to enormous success.
