TransCanada has once again been named to the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) World and North America indices in 2016, achieving an overall score at the 100th percentile.

The indices measure a company’s performance on its commitment to environmental, social and governance excellence.

This year marks the 14th consecutive year TransCanada has appeared on the DJSI World Index, and the 12th year on the DJSI North America Index since it began in 2003.

TransCanada also maintained its ‘Industry Leader’ position, receiving the highest overall score in the oil & gas storage & transportation industry, by garnering scores above the industry average in every category in the economic, environmental and social dimensions – some of which include corporate governance, climate strategy, stakeholder engagement and social impacts on communities.

Strong standings in 2016 are the direct result of a highly collaborative effort at the company involving well over 20 departments and more than 70 people – all subject matter experts in their field.
