Wildlife Rescue Team Lands New Home
A volunteer-driven, non-profit organization, Wildlife Haven has occupied various locations since it began rehabilitating injured wildlife and educating the public in 1984. For the past five years, their home has been an unused dairy barn donated by the Van Gorp family in Ile-des-Chênes.
A new land partnership with TransCanada equips Wildlife Haven to develop a facility plan tailored to their needs, which include long flyways to rehabilitate large birds like bald eagles, keeping predators and prey apart, limiting human contact with animals preparing for rerelease into the wild and meeting the increasing demand for wildlife education.
TransCanada’s local team members help inform our community investment planning so we can contribute to the prosperity and sustainability of the communities where we live and work. Our Community Investment program focuses on safety, community and environment.
