College students’ social encounters on campus shape their college experience. Therefore, it is imperative that campuses foster inclusive environments where all students feel valued, respected and celebrated. This in mind, the need for a sense of belonging is more pressing than ever. Our society’s tendency to display racial intolerance, cultural disengagement and lack of understanding across differences calls for more culturally aware campuses.
ATLANTA, March 9, 2017 /3BL Media/ — More than 5,000 college and high school students will spend their spring break this year helping people in need of a decent and affordable place to call home. The students will travel to 35 U.S. states to help build homes and improve local communities through Habitat for Humanity’s alternative spring break program, Collegiate Challenge.
On March 2, 2017, The Texas Appleseed Board of Directors hosted a reception to honor Weatherford for the Company’s partnership in creating the Texas Homeless Youth Handbook.
In a joint pro bono effort, Weatherford, Texas Appleseed and Baker & McKenzie partnered to create a guide to help homeless youth better understand their legal rights, responsibilities and resources.
