Industry-leading program to fund Meal Swipe Banks at 13 campuses and provide more than 25,000 free meals annually
GAITHERSBURG, Md., October 29, 2019 /3BL Media/ – Today, Sodexo announced an industry-leading and first-of-its-kind pilot program to expand its partnership with Swipe Out Hunger – a leading national nonprofit group committed to reducing food insecurity on college campuses. The program will be piloted on 13 campuses and would establish a “Meal Swipe Bank” at each participating college or university for students in need.
In June, I traveled to Guatemala for the first time. The company’s Project SPAMMY® employee engagement trips had sounded interesting to me for some time, and I had heard great things from others who had gone on such trips. I decided to go, as I felt it would be a great opportunity to do some social good while spending time with my daughter, Karla, who was a college student.

Applications for the 2020 Stephen J. Brady Stop Hunger Scholarships now being accepted.
GAITHERSBURG, Md., October 15, 2019 /3BL Media/-- The Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation announced the opening of the application period for the 2020 Stephen J. Brady Stop Hunger Scholarships which will run from October 5 through December 5, 2019. The scholarship program urges students to apply to #Get5KGive5K to help end hunger in their communities. Students from kindergarten through graduate school are eligible to apply for a $5,000 scholarship with matching $5,000 grant for the hunger-related charity of their choice.
Since 2015, Las Vegas Sands has invested more than $4 million in homelessness-related issues and has become a champion for tackling youth homelessness, in particular, as co-founder of the Southern Nevada Youth Homelessness Summit with long-time partner Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth (NPHY).
This fall, Sands is amplifying its advocacy for youth homelessness to help drive a national conversation around the issue with financial backing for Lost In America, a feature documentary film scheduled for release by Indican Pictures in November 2019.
RICHMOND, Va., August 22, 2019 /3BL Media/ — Governor Ralph Northam today announced that The Smithfield Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Smithfield Foods, Inc., has donated $150,000 to support state programs for homeless veterans and their families. Governor accepted the donation from Smithfield Foods on behalf of the Virginia Veterans Services Foundation (VVSF) during a special ceremony in Richmond. The donation will be designated to the Homeless Veteran Fund.
