We received 157 incredible nominations for the Essity Barrier Breaker Awards 2021.

Each initiative showcased how our employees contribute to better lives for individuals and communities around us. The winners in all four categories are:

  • The Calí Volunteering Group in Colombia, for changing lives through improved hygiene.
  • The Menopause Awareness Initiative in the UK, for challenging the negative representations of female aging and redefining what it means to be a midlife woman.
  • The Converting and Personal Care Team in Valls in Spain, for using 3D technology to enable colleagues to safely touch common screen surfaces during the pandemic.
  • The Make a Better Mark Challenge for challenging employees to reduce their carbon footprint using gamification.
