Over the last 30 years, Gildan has grown into a very different apparel company, with close to 90% of its revenues being generated from products manufactured in its company-owned and operated factories.

As one of the world’s largest manufacturers of apparel and socks, Gildan has direct control from cotton to end product which allows it to ensure that responsible and sustainable practices are in place everywhere its products are made. The Company offers progressive compensation, safe work environments, development opportunities and a wide range of benefits such as free onsite medical clinics and transportation as well as subsidized meals to its employees. This direct control also allows the Company to reduce their environmental footprint through initiatives such as an onsite BioMass steam generation systems which harness energy from renewable sources. Finally, it has enabled Gildan to develop meaningful partnerships with local organizations to fund sustainable community health and education initiatives.
