Making capsule recycling easier for consumers worldwide

As a firm believer in the value of aluminium and the importance of recycling, Nespresso is working with numerous industry and governmental stakeholders to develop country-specific systems for the collection and recycling of used Nespresso capsules in countries where consumers cannot recycle their capsules through national waste recycling programs.

The company's focus is to make it as easy as possible for its consumers to return used capsules for recycling. This is why it has installed over 14’000 dedicated collection points in 34 countries, in addition to working with three national packaging recovery schemes. For added convenience, it offers nationwide doorstep capsule collection in 15 countries through the Nespresso Recycling@Home initiative, where the post or courier services pick up used capsules upon delivering a new order directly at consumers' homes. At the end of 2014, the global collection capacity of Nespresso used capsules for recycling had reached over 80%.
