Fair Trade USA™ Joins Amazon Climate Pledge Friendly Initiative
OAKLAND, Calif., April 12, 2022 /3BL Media/ - Fair Trade USA is proud to join Amazon’s Climate Pledge Friendly initiative making Fair Trade Certified products more easily discoverable on Amazon’s e-commerce sites.
Climate Pledge Friendly highlights products that are certified by one of the sustainability certifications featured on Amazon’s certification page or by their own Compact by Design certification. Fair Trade Certified products, with universal product codes (UPC), will receive the Climate Pledge Friendly badge that identifies products that meet sustainability standards.
“Our involvement with this initiative has been percolating for some time,” said Paul Rice, Founder & CEO of Fair Trade USA. “We are thrilled consumers have access to a wider assortment of more sustainable products through our partnership with Climate Pledge Friendly.”
By purchasing Fair Trade Certified goods, consumers are choosing to support responsible companies, empowering farmers, workers, and fishers, and protecting the environment. In other words, it’s a world-changing way of doing business.
As the co-founder of and signatory to The Climate Pledge, Amazon has committed to be net zero carbon across their businesses by 2040. Climate Pledge Friendly, inspired by this commitment, uses sustainability certifications to highlight products that support their commitment to help preserve the natural world.
“We applaud Amazon for creating ways for customers to shop for more sustainable products and addressing climate change head on through initiatives such as their climate pledge,” said Rice.
