10th Annual Women’s Leadership Conference Sells Out Earlier Than Ever Due to Top National Speakers, Reaches Capacity with 1,000 Registrations

LAS VEGAS, August 4, 2016 /3BL Media/ – Four women at the top of their fields will offer insights into leadership and advancing in the workplace during a featured panel at MGM Resorts Foundation’s Women’s Leadership Conference, to be held Aug. 8 & 9 at MGM Grand.

Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the conference has sold out for the third year in a row. More than 1,000 people are registered to attend the two-day event, which offers attendees custom-designed programming to help them grow their careers.  

Natalie Allen, who is returning as conference host for the third time, will moderate “Looking Back to Look Ahead: Is the Glass Ceiling Shatterproof?” The executive leadership panel discussion is set for Aug. 8 and will feature local and national senior leaders, including:

Barbara Atkinson, M.D. UNLV School of Medicine Founding Dean. Dr. Atkinson is an accomplished researcher, educator and administrator in the fields of medicine and medical education. She has spent her entire career in medical school leadership, creating innovative learning environments for future physicians.

Stefanie Miller, Group Vice President, Strategic Partnership Marketing for Coca-Cola Company. Miller applies strategic vision, marketing expertise and leadership to drive growth to the company’s iconic brands. Additionally, she serves on the Advocacy Committee of the Board of Director’s Network, whose mission is to increase the number of women in executive leadership and on corporate boards.  

Janet Murguía, President and CEO of the National Council of La Raza (NCLR), the largest national Hispanic civil rights and advocacy organization in the U.S. Murguía is a key figure among this generation of leaders in the Latino community.  Prior to joining NCLR, Murguía worked at the White House, ultimately serving as deputy assistant to President Bill Clinton.

Virginia Valentine, President of the Nevada Resort Association. Valentine is the lead advocate for an industry that contributes nearly half of the state’s general fund. A longtime leader in Nevada with over thirty years of experience working in local governance, Valentine is the former manager of Clark County, Nevada. Her career path—which includes a stint as a design engineer working on irrigation projects—has made her one of the few women in her field.

The Women’s Leadership Conference will feature a full schedule of keynotes and panel discussions with local and national thought leaders. Boston Marathon bombing survivor and inspirational speaker Adrianne Haslet and acclaimed mountain climber, and leadership expert Alison Levine round out a roster of other successful speakers and panelists. The Women’s Leadership Conference is open to women of all ethnicities, professions and social backgrounds, locally and nationally, and the men who support them. The two-day conference will offer a wide range of learning opportunities, career guidance and personal growth tools, including:
