Angela Harrell Named Head of Voya Foundation and Office of Corporate Responsibility

(NYSE: VOYA), formerly ING U.S., announced today that Angela Harrell has joined the company to lead the Voya Foundation – Voya’s charitable giving arm – and the Office of Corporate Responsibility. Harrell is based in Voya’s New York City office and reports directly to Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer Kevin Silva. Her appointment was effective October 20, 2014.

In this role, Harrell will spearhead efforts to improve the quality of life in communities where Voya operates and its employees and customers live. She will also be responsible for upholding, communicating and promoting the four pillars of Voya’s Corporate Responsibility program: community investment, multicultural affairs, environmental sustainability and business practices and principles.

Harrell joins Voya after more than 15 years of professional experience, most recently at The Coca-Cola Company. As Director of Operations, Harrell was responsible for developing a global strategy that inspired employees to enhance the reputation of the business and make an impact on their workplace and communities. In her past roles, Harrell was involved in a broad range of activities including corporate social responsibility, media relations, financial and sustainability reporting, internal and executive communications, and digital/social media.

Harrell earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia and a master’s degree in International Affairs from Yale University.
