(3BL Media / theCSRfeed) February 9, 2012 - This year, Banorte-Ixe employees showed their commitment through their participation in a special initiative, "Jugando, jugando y con Banorte-Ixe ayudando” (Playing, playing and with Banorte-Ixe, aiding) collecting over 34,000 new toys to be donated to vulnerable children in Mexico.

With the support of 822 volunteers, we created thousands of smiles in 133 institutions including children's hospitals, orphanages and foundations. We also delivered toys to the children of co-workers who serve in our security and cleaning departments.   "Operation Smile" began when staff members traded work clothes for costumes, becoming the princesses, super heroes, fighters and clowns who delivered the toys on the occasion of "Three Kings Day,”  a day when gifts are traditionally given.   The participation of all employees was extraordinary, exceeding the target by more than 2,000 toys and 70% more volunteers than the previous year. The hard work and shared effort of this initiative led to its success, and further demonstrated that the people of Banorte-Ixe make up a family that takes care of those most in need. We are already preparing for next year’s event so that with the enthusiasm of Banorte-Ixe employees we will leave even more children smiling!   BAN20983
