Bechtel Receives Community Service Business Leader Award
RESTON, Va., April 11, 2016 /3BL Media/ — Bechtel, a leading global engineering, procurement and construction company, today announced that it received the 2016 Best of Reston Community Service Award yesterday evening from the Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce and Cornerstones. Six individual and two corporate honorees were recognized for making a difference in the lives of others in the community.
Bechtel was selected as a Corporate Business Leader for providing its employees opportunities to create positive impact throughout the Reston community and Dulles Corridor, by encouraging them to follow through on their own purpose-driven interests and passions.

Bechtel employees worked with Reston area schools, including Lake Anne elementary, Langston Hughes middle, and South Lakes high in helping to foster interest in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) careers. Bechtel volunteers also participated in the Reston Chamber’s “Ethics Day,” with high school seniors, and supported programs that included FIRST® Robotics and Junior Achievement, among other activities that benefited the local community.
In addition to local outreach, Bechtel established Signature Program partnerships in 2012 to adopt a more strategic approach to its global Stewardship efforts. Bechtel partners with four nonprofits, FIRST®, DiscoverE, Junior Achievement, and Engineers Without Borders. By partnering we help build the science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) pipeline; champion innovation; and use our engineering and construction expertise to support communities around the world.
