CHICAGO, May 29, 2020 /3BL Media/ – International Paper (NYSE: IP) has donated 10,000 corrugated boxes to Team Rubicon, a nonprofit organization currently managing the Greater Chicago Food Depository for the city of Chicago. The boxes will be used to distribute personal protection equipment throughout Chicago, as part of Team Rubicon’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Team Rubicon serves communities by mobilizing veterans to continue their service, leveraging their skills and experience to help people prepare, respond, and recover from disasters and humanitarian crises. The group is packing and distributing up to 1,000 boxes per day.

“International Paper’s donation of cardboard boxes has been an integral part of Team Rubicon (TR) operations at the United Center,” said Maggi Thomas, Team Rubicon Midwest Territory Planner and Current Team Leader at Chicago United Center. “The boxes have allowed us to prepare and distribute thousands of supplies within the City of Chicago of which a large majority have been sent to under-served/underfunded organizations. Utilizing the boxes, we have been able to establish pick-up and delivery days with over 100 organizations per week.”
