Canada Leads at the UN’s Scaling Up Nutrition Program; SAC Capital Buys into Magellan Health Services; Finn Partners Health Launches National Practice - Health Minute for October 2, 2012
Julian Fantino, the Canadian Minister of International Cooperation, presented at the Scaling Up Nutrition event held at the United Nations in New York last week. The meeting reviewed progress over the past year and inspired further commitments in the fight against undernutrition, which affects the health of millions of children in the developing world. The Minister pressed for concerted international attention to maternal, newborn and child health; food security and nutrition; and responsible natural resource management in developing countries.
SAC Capital has announced the purchase of a five percent stake in Magellan Health Services. Magellan is engaged in the specialty managed healthcare business, providing services to health plans and insurance companies. The investment comes after Magellan launched its total drug solutions initiative, which offers complete drug management capabilities.
Finn Partners has launched Finn Partners Health, a dedicated national practice that will offer expertise in consumer health, health policy and public affairs, health services, non-profit and health information technology. It will also focus on the life sciences and specialty pharma industries, with particular emphasis on helping clients navigate the world of investor and corporate communications.
