Dallas, February 8, 2020 /3BL Media/ - CBRE has been named a 2021 Leader in Diversity among Dallas-based companies, one of six organizations—and the only one in commercial real estate —selected for this distinction.

The Dallas Business Journal has recognized CBRE as an Outstanding Diversity & Inclusion Organization, reflecting its companywide commitment to a diverse workforce and its programs, initiatives and resources that advance diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) within the workplace.

“Building a diverse and inclusive workforce is critical to CBRE’s success – today and in the future,” said Bob Sulentic, the company’s president and chief executive officer. “We are proud to receive this recognition and remain laser-focused on continuing to make measurable progress.”

In the last year, CBRE has strengthened its commitment to advancing DE&I through actions including pledging to spend $1 billion with diverse suppliers in 2021, donating more than $2 million to advance social justice and combat racism, and enhancing internal programs focused on recruiting, retaining and developing diverse talent.

Tim Dismond, who was appointed CBRE’s first chief diversity officer in June, said, “This recognition is a remarkable honor for everyone at CBRE. Our commitment to DE&I is unwavering and so is our dedication to creating a more inclusive culture where everyone feels safe, valued and heard.”

The Dallas Business Journal’s inaugural Leaders in Diversity Awards program recognizes organizations and individuals promoting practices that advance diversity and inclusion in the workplace and in business leadership across all areas of diversity; including age, disability, gender, sexual orientation, race and religion.

In 2020, CBRE was named to Ethisphere’s list of the World’s Most Ethical Companies for the seventh consecutive year; honored as one of America’s Best Employers for Diversity by Forbes for the third year in a row; named to 3BL Media’s 100 Best Corporate Citizens list; listed on the 2020 Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index; and named a best place to work for LGBTQ Equality by the Human Rights Campaign.
