September 11, 2013 /3BL Media/ - CDP announced today it will host a reception for the top Canadian and U.S. disclosers on Oct. 22 in tandem with the National Association for Environmental Management’s (NAEM) 2013 EHS Management Forum in Montreal. The Forum is the largest annual conference for corporate environment, health and safety (EHS) and sustainability leaders.   The reception will include an overview of CDP’s work on corporate environmental disclosure in North America, a presentation of climate change leadership best practices and a keynote by BCE Inc. (Bell Canada), a leading Montreal-based CDP discloser.   Stephen Donofrio, Vice President of Partnerships and Innovation for CDP North America, said the collaboration is an opportunity to strengthen the organization’s ties to the business leaders who manage environmental, social and governance (ESG) reporting for their companies.   “NAEM is a well-established and important organization serving the needs of Environmental Managers in North America. As such its member base has an acute interest in CDP, and many are among the top disclosers,” he said. “This partnership helps connect us directly with key personnel within a large number of organizations who are working hard to drive environmental change and actions that deliver a more sustainable economy.”   NAEM Deputy Director Virginia Hoekenga said the partnership aligned with the association’s ongoing support of its members external reporting efforts.   “CDP is an influential stakeholder for our member companies,” she said.  “The CDP disclosure process enables companies to demonstrate leadership and a commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Co-locating our events is a great opportunity for our attendees to network and discuss best practices.”   Every year, CDP publishes a list of the top disclosers in the U.S. and Canada. The 2013 list will be announced at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE Euronext) on September 23 for the US and at the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) October 1 for Canada.
