Center for Resource Solutions Announces 2012 Green Power Leadership Award Winners

Awards presented during Renewable Energy Markets 2012 in Washington, D.C. Lisa Jackson, U.S. EPA; National Football League; Puget Sound Energy; Wisconsin Public Service Community Foundation receive national honors

(3BL Media) Washington, DC - September 24, 2012 - Center for Resource Solutions (CRS) recognized three organizations and one individual today for their role in building and shaping the market for renewable energy over the past year. The award recipients were honored during the 2012 Green Power Leadership Awards event in conjunction with the Renewable Energy Markets 2012 conference taking place in Washington, D.C. this week. The CRS Market Development award category recognizes organizations and individual renewable energy leaders.

CRS recognizes market leadership through four awards: the Best Green Power Education Outreach Program award recognizes effective and unique outreach programs focusing on education related to green power; Best Marketing Campaign by a Green Power Purchaser for promoting the use of green power in an innovative or compelling way; Best Marketing Campaign by a Green Power Supplier for novelty, originality, and success in a campaign to gain new customers; and the Green Power Leader of the Year for continuous achievement, vision, and dedication to green power.

2012 CRS Market Development Awards
An independent selection committee reviewed dozens of nominations. This year's Green Power Market Development Award Winners are:

  • Best Green Power Education Outreach Program: Wisconsin Public Service Community Foundation
  • Best Marketing Campaign by a Green Power Purchaser: National Football League
  • Best Marketing Campaign by a Green Power Supplier: Puget Sound Energy
  • Green Power Leader of the Year Award: Lisa Jackson, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency

"The work these winners have done to advance the case for green power is extremely impressive," said Jennifer Martin, executive director of the Center for Resource Solutions, which gave out the awards. "We are seeing the entire industry achieve new levels of creativity and commitment to promoting clean energy use among individuals and organizations nationwide, and these winners are the best of the best. We are proud to be able to honor their hard work today."

The Green Power Leadership Awards recognize outstanding commitments and achievements in the green power marketplace in the following three categories: Purchasers, Suppliers, and Market Development.
