CHARLOTTE, N.C.,  May 6, 2015 /3BL Media/ – For the second year, CITGO Petroleum Corporation and Nisbet Oil are bringing Charlotte cyclists together for the weekly CITGO Fueling Good Charlotte Mountain Bike Series, a 12 race series that began April 15 and runs every Wednesday evening through August. Open to participants of all ages, the series provides an opportunity for cyclists to race at a lower cost, as entrance fees and administrative costs are subsidized by CITGO and Nisbet Oil.

Each race attracts more than 100 participants and incorporates three local parks: Renaissance Park, U.S. National Whitewater Center and North Mecklenburg Park. Local businesses will join in on the action by providing promotions and giveaways to participants and spectators throughout the summer.

“We strive to make Charlotte a better place to live, work and play,” said Jimmy White, president of Nisbet Oil. “Our partnership with CITGO and the Mountain Bike Race Series allows us to give back to those in our own backyard.”

Charlotte-area residents interested in participating in the CITGO Fueling Good Charlotte Mountain Bike Series this summer can visit http://www.charlottemtnbike.com/ for registration information and additional details.

“The Fueling Good Charlotte Mountain Bike series continues to bring the community together to promote a healthy, active lifestyle,” said series founder and local businessman Neal Boyd. “This wouldn’t be possible without the support from CITGO, Nisbet Oil, and the Charlotte community.”

Supporting the Charlotte Mountain Bike Series reflects just some of the many ways CITGO fosters deep local connections and encourages healthy living. Committed to community involvement, CITGO supports health-minded organizations like the Simón Bolívar Foundation, the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) and the Special Olympics, and its employees donate thousands of volunteer hours.
