Chevron Earns Top Score for 17th Consecutive Year in Human Rights Campaign 2022 Corporate Equality Index

Company recognized for commitment to inclusion in annual assessment of LGBTQ+ workplace equality

San Ramon, Calif., January 31, 2022 /3BL Media/ — Chevron Corporation (NYSE: CVX) announced that it has received a score of 100 on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2022 Corporate Equality Index, the nation’s foremost benchmarking survey and report measuring corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ+ workplace equality. 

Chevron is among 842 major U.S. businesses that received a CEI rating of 100 percent along with the distinction of “Best Places to Work for LGBTQ Equality.” To earn this designation, companies must have non-discrimination policies across their organization, offer equitable benefits for LGBTQ workers and their families, support an inclusive culture and prioritize corporate social responsibility.

Chevron has a long-standing legacy of diversity and inclusion in support of its LGBTQ+ workforce. Chevron was the first major U.S. energy company in the oil and gas industry to include sexual orientation and gender identity in our Equal Employment Opportunity policies (1993), the first to offer domestic partner benefits (1998) and offer fully inclusive transgender wellness benefits (2011).
